LIGHTSABER FORMS

Shii-Cho (Form I):

Shii-Cho is the most basic style of lightsaber battle. Shii-Cho is a technique for employing the lightsaber as a tool for protection and growth as opposed to a weapon. The practitioner of Shii-Cho employs the lightsaber as a defensive weapon, blocking and parrying incoming blows in order to disarm the opponent. It is uncommon for Sith to employ Shii-Cho, as it requires the user to pull back on their assaults and is typically not intended for lightsaber battle.

Makashi (Form II):

Makashi is the second of the seven lightsaber combat forms. This beautiful fighting style was created to emphasize lightsaber to lightsaber combat, something that its predecessor, Shii-Cho, failed to do. As lightsaber combat continued to dominate for generations, this style grew in popularity. Makashi emphasizes on lightsaber-specific combat by utilizing a sequence of fast jabs, fluid movement, and good footwork. This form is favored by many Sith who place a premium on combat skill, despite its limited movement range.

Soresu (Form III):

Soresu is one of the seven techniques of lightsaber battle that emphasizes defense. This style emphasizes survival by simply outlasting an opponent and waiting for the right moment to strike. However, a solid defense is not always a successful attack.

Ataru (Form IV):

Ataru boasted about its proficiency in spins, leaps, and other sorts of acrobatics, using the Force as its primary helper to execute such rapid blows. By increasing his acrobatics with the Force, Ataru is adept at attacking the adversary from all angles. However, limited conditions frequently limit Ataru’s capabilities.

Shien (Form V):

Shien is a version of the fifth form that utilizes a backhanded grip to increase leverage and force in big, sweeping motions intended to hit several foes. Due to its passive nature, this weapon is rarely employed by Sith; nonetheless, its swinging motions, which require the highest defense, do have some uses.

Niman (Form VI):

Niman is the sixth of the lightsaber combat forms that is neither the most offensive nor the most defensive, and is hence known as the moderation form. Utilization of Niman is typically dependent on the practitioner’s strategic thinking and thinking ability during combat. Form Six is regarded as a respectable backup due to its vast array of motions and attacks, which typically involve the use of the Force. The Sith enjoy this form because it allows them to think rapidly in combat; nevertheless, this cannot be said of those who lack the required mastery.

Juyo (Form VII):

Juyo is widely used by Sith due to its effective and fierce strikes. This style of the seventh form employs forceful, rapid, and unpredictability assaults. Due to its aggressive stance, Juyo defense is difficult to maintain.

Way of the Vornskr

"Juyo is more than a fighting style. It is a state of mind, a path that leads through the penumbra of the dark side."

- Mace Windu
